Yes pretty much everything costs more in the UK than the US, I have an
American colleague working over here this summer and he complains
everyday....
On car prices in general the UK dealerships and European manufactures
maintain some kind of quasi-legal price maintenance (fixing) system. I'm
currently in the market for a FIAT Coupe Turbo by Pinnifarina (not available
in the US BUT 155mph with styling to match) and it seems I can save between
15-25% on the new #26k price by buying an import from Europe.
On the subject of Panteras John was unlucky to buy a rust heap for #15k, a
DTDC owner recently was selling a concours car for #20k which is pretty much
in line with US prices, also original GT5S are probably cheaper here than
the US, I've seen cars at #25k with perfect examples at #30k. Also I think
Panteras are very difficult to sell here due to the size of the market (less
than 100 cars) and the cost of petrol at $7 per gallon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by
the way can you convert a Double Pumper Holly back to single........
