1. You are correct. Long throw slave cylinders do work this way.
2. Most if not all the Pantera parts suppliers sell long-throw slaves. The
ones from some are stainless steel so you need not worry about corrosion
damage either.
PPC in Colorado, Pantera Parts Connection in Mt View CA and Pantera East in FL
all sell long throw slaves. Probably others, too but don't know for sure. J
