I have trouble with my passenger side window. I bought a brass gear at the
SDP swap meet!! But when I took the door skin off, I was lost. I could put
my fingers on the motor, but there is about a 1% chance I can get my fingers
and therefore NO chance I can get a wrench on the bolts that hold it in
place. But I don't know if this is even necesary. Where does this gear
mount? And how does the whole thing work? I am under the belief that the
motor shaft runs vertical and has a worm gear on it? My window will move a
little. If I crank on it manually, the window will move for about 2-3
turns. Then while I continue to crank it will stay put for another 2-3
turns. I think I'm missing some gear teeth. But I noticed a hole a little
bit above the motor shaft that looks like a likely place for the gear axle.
But this hole was empty?
Before I take the door skin off the other side for comparison, which I'll
probably do anyway, I was hoping for some hints or an explanation of how
this whole thing works???
Thanks
Paul
