Total Seals can give such a good ring seal that bore life is sometimes
drastically shortened. Might have something to do with ring tension in the
T.Cs.  A friend rebuilt his motor at the beginning of the '94 autocross season
with new pistons & Total Seal rings, ran 12 events, won his class. He tore
down the engine for the next year's running, and found all the bores to have
0.030 taper! He junked the block I'd guess the total running time on the
engine was less than 50 miles..... Ask questions of current pro-engine
builders on TC rings! J DeRyke
