Aye - very good advice. This is one advantage of buying from a local shop
rather than a mail order place: you can try the helmet on before buying it.
It may be worth the few extra bucks you pay at a local shop...
A helmet should be snug on your head. Not so tight that it's uncomfortable,
and there shouldn't be any uncomfortable pressure points due to a mismatch
in shape between your head and the helmet liner (though the helmet will mold
itslef to the shape of your head, to a certain extent, over time).
One easy test: With the chin strap tight, it should be impossible to remove
it. Motorcyclists, for years, have tried grasping the rear edge and trying
to roll the helmet off the front of their heads. You should not be able to
do this if the helmet fits right.
