All,
T.P.O.C. dyno day saw a slightly overcast sky with a mildly humid
83deg, go off smoothly and Quickly! A fun time was had by one and all.
Many thanks to, the guys at Superior Automotive for being there on this
three day weekend, and to all that helped in putting on this event!
(great hamburgers Freddie).

I dont have everybody's numbers available yet but I will share those
that I Know. These were on a Dynojet model 248C Dynamometer, measuring
outputs at the rear wheels.

				cid hp torque

	Dick Drenske 396 462 @6000*	421 @5500
	John Parsons 414 432 @6200	400 @5000
	Brock Tella 351	307 @6000 304 @4200
	Curt toumanian 351 281 @5900	296 @4200
	Art Briones(Mustang)	302 243 @5200 281 @4000

     * The numbers dont tell the whole story, Dick Drenske's car
hicupped at 6000rpm and the mechanic let off the gas(smart guy). The way
the HP graph was going he probably would have hit about 480 @6500 if he
continued. The car did not leave the dyno under its own power, as it
turned out to be a broken crank, at the fluid damper mounted snout.

A hall big brute equipped car made 350hp.
A beautifull Silver modular engined car(it had cobra emblems on the
motor)made just over 250hp. Kerry Shaw ran his Rat powered P, and, well,
it ran ratty!(sorry Kerry :-)) just over 290hp. From the earthquake like
hp curve he got it was diagnosed that he had a fuel supply promblem (I
believe).
Curt's car, and a number of others at higher rpm's showed a ragged hp
curve, wich apparently can be corrected with carb/jetting adjustments,
it looks as though Superior is going to get some business!
My own car, after carb work by Superior a month or two ago made
418hp, but since then, in routine engine checkup I discoverd that the
timing was too advanced (46deg). Remember the thread recently about
timing and efficiency? well, I backed off mine to 36 full advance (10
idle), and with no other adjustments, and picked up another 14hp at the
rear wheels!
Don Peaks car ran a respectable 278hp, pretty impressive for a car that
just turned 250,000 miles!
Question: what do Dick, John and Don's motors all have in common?
....... Randy Gillis! head wrench, and POCA Hospitality chairman!
Thanks again to all that participated, and if anyone wants more info,
drop me a line.
cheers
John P
