Hello -

As a brand new person getting his first experience at evaluating a car it
looked very good to me. The only things I would add are that the speakers
are in the doors, the radio looked like a 1970's model, there was some very
light blue smoke as the car accelerated away from us, and there did not
appear to be any transmission noise as he shifted going down the street in
front of us. There was a very complete tool kit and a number of manuals and
so forth also with the car. Decided I did not like the pop riveted flares
over the wheels. Interior was very good and the seats did not rock.

Subject: '74 - GTS 4 Sale

George and I looked at a '74 GTS yesterday, in Pleasenton Ca.
I posted the ad last week. Bill is asking $25K. This car has
about 27K miles, is ALL stock. (Except for a La Carerra wheel)
VIN is 7220. 6/1974 Burg/blk. It has little or no "bondo", was
painted (partially ?) once long ago. One small dent in front
airdam/chin area. Stock radiator, no cooling upgrades.
Dunlop rear tires, and a different brand on front, tread "fair".
Has 7/8 Campys with the sticker. Two small keys. No noticeable
rust except very small dots behind front wheels. Clean original
interior. He is the 3rd owner. The only thing that didn't seem to
work in limited testing was the hazard switch, but the rest of the
electrical (lights, brakes, turns, fan etc) worked. A/C needs a recharge.
The first owner may not have had it very long, as the 2nd owner
got a letter from De Tomaso, thanking him for buying it. Also a
letter from Ford (AC Carroll ??) thanking him for upgrading from
(trading in) a Corvette. Bill bought it in 1993, and "Non-Opted" it
since 1994. (He has driven it once or twice a year on a "one-day"
permit from DMV. He has some other interesting paperwork.
Parts of the motor have been repainted (spray can ?) to include
the water bottle, probably to seal surface rust, in FORD blue.
It looks like all the smog equipment is still attached. Started
(already warm) fine, and sounded nice. (925) 462-5608.
I took some photos also. I think this is a very good car for someone
who wants an all original stock GTS.
George, can you add more ?
