I'm not sure from what perspective they were telling Larry this, but the
Tire Rack has three warehouses... they also have them in South Bend IN and
Newark DE (yay!) too.  They might have been talking about that particular
warehouse...

They've recently revamped their website so that it actually checks the stock
at the various warehouses when you try to order the tires online... so you
can tell what their stock is.
