No; a nut-thickness plus 1 thread is the rule-of-thumb. Especially for the
lightness freaks that run aluminum lug nuts (available for the Pantera).
Don't
know where that 3/8" spec came from. The rule of thumb comes out to about
5/8"
thread engagement on a std Pantera lug. Maybe there was a typo. Thanks- J

Jack,
A nut thickness can vary so i wouldnt trust that to use for
a common
denominator, and Ive also never heard of that 3/8" spec. As far as the rule
of
thumb goes, It should be one and half times the diameter of the screw! Which
in this case are your wheel studs. Doing the math that comes out to just
short of 3/4" . Id have to guess that the 3/8" spec was a typo. Anything
less than that I would consider unsafe! >>
