Subject:Mangusta throttle cable

Has anyone come up with an easy solution to the notchy throttle cable/gas
pedal operation on the Mangusta? I've drowned it in lubricant, with some
improvement, but it still is annoying. I know one of the early road test
mags said to install a motorcycle cable and bypass the original cable tube,
but is there a way to make the original setup function properly?
