Claudia Murphy of South Bay Panteras informed me that the
date has changed for their upcoming event due to conflict with
Superbowl Sunday:
The South Bay Pantera Club is hosting an exhibit of Panteras
at the Museum of Flying in Santa Monica on Sunday, Feb 7, 1999
from 10 am until 3 pm.
The Museum of Flying is home to more than 40 vintage aircraft with most
of
them in air-worthy condition. The Museum=92s displays range from World
War I
era to the present day but concentrates on World War II war birds.
Included
in the rare collection of =93flyable=94 vintage fighters are a P-38
Lightning,
Japanese Zero (one of two flying in the world), a P-47 Thunderbolt, a
Hawker
Hurricane (only flyable one in north America), two Spitfires, a Bearcat,
P-51 Mustang, and a Hellcat.
In exchange for POCA members exhibiting their cars, the Museum will
provide
free entry and simulator rides for the driver and one passenger, as well
as
a guided tour of the Museum and a photo opportunity with Vintage
Airplanes.
Participants must arrive by 9:30am to allow ample time to situate
vehicles
and be willing to exhibit your vehicle until 3pm. All eating facilities
at
the airport are closed on Sundays so you are encouraged to bring a picnic
lunch to enjoy. The Museum is located at 2772 Donald Douglas Loop North
in
Santa Monica.
To exhibit your vehicle at this event, contact Claudia by January 20th.
If you have any questions call Claudia at (818)360-1559
or the South Bay Pantera Hotline at (310)326-4260.
