The Block and heads are cast in Italy by Teksid whom also casts aluminum
components for Ferrari road and Formula One cars, as well as other Italian
and European super cars. The crankshaft is forged by Gerlach-Werke in
Homburg Germany then Machined and balanced at Ford's Windsor, Ontario
Plant. The engine has nodular iron main bearings, on each side of the cap,
two reach upward into the block and one running horizontally into each side
fo the cap through the skirt of the block. The rods are made from powdered
metal, compacted the hot struck in a forge making them remarkably strong.
Lastly the engine has a unique windage tray that wipes excess oil away form
the crank and directs it to the deep oil sump, so even during prolonged
excessive reving the sump contains at least 3 quarts of oil.
