Actually, most high rpm engines are big bore. Larger bore
size allows larger valves and ports which means more power
and rpm. A bigger bore will also make more torque.

Tom;

I'm afraid you're confused, big bore long stroke equals more torque.
Conversely, small bore short stroke equates to higher RPMs and more
horsepower.

Trucks like longer stroke motors - more torque (think about the leverage
from the connecting rod to the longer throw of the crank) at the
sacrifice of high RPM (due to longer rods and more mass in the crank).

The 460, for example, is a stroked 429. Ford kept the 460 around for
25+ years solely as a truck motor (and cubic-inch utopia for the SVO
crowd). Long live the 460!
