Yo My Peeps,
We need some volunteer POCA support for recently vacated and newly
established positions. They are:
1. RAFFLEMASTER:
This position was previously held by Freddy Peak who has since resigned.
We need someone who is willing to step forward NOW to take over this
very important function. Since many of you asked I proposed and the
POCA Board passed a Board motion to invite the both the vendors and
Pantera International to the next Vegas Fun Rally. Bill Hohnhorst is
currently preparing the invitation letters but we need someone to step
up and work with Bill and the vendors and PI to insure raffle prizes are
donated, tickets are sold to participants, cash is collected, etc. It
is a very importent function one which has generated allot of revenue
for POCA in the past. At this time Bill Hohnhorst is your point of
contact for this job if your interested. He can be E-mailed at
<Whohnhorst@aol.com>.
2. CLUB STORE MANAGER:
Bob Reid has been pulling double duty as both the POCA Treasurer and
manager of the Club Store and in all fairness it isn't fair to Bob to
expect him to do both jobs. He has also indicated he doesn't have the
available time to commit to the Store effort and won't be able to do the
job after April. We'd like to see an individual or chapter step forward
and take this over as soon as possible. The Board would even consider a
"proposal" to manage the Club Store" as a "profit-making business". Bob
Reid is your point of contact for this effort if your interested contact
Bob at <Rreidcpa@aol.com>.
3. CONVENTION COMMITTEE:
Scotty Black will be leading the effort to explore and identify
alternate potential hotel and convention facilities both for Vegas and
elsewhere. We've already started exploring this very importent effort so
if you'd like to be part of the process that identifies both the
criteria that will be used for the search as well as the recommendations
that will ultimately go forward to "you" the membership for a decision
please contact Scotty at
<timepiecepr@yahoo.com>.
There's not a hellva lot I can offer you except unfailing support and
encouragement by the entire Board. In all three cases above we need
people to step up and volunteer and lend your ideas and suggestions. I
know for many of you POCA and corporate and military veterans out there
the term "volunteer" has some unmentionable horror. But I fully believe
in "YOUR" involvement and impowerment so lend your support. . .We need
YOU and the benefit of your experience and know-how.
thanks
