Dorsey, the big tank's height is restricted by the cap on early cars, which
don't have an access hole in the rt cover. If you have a later car in which
the rt cover has an access hole to reach the large tank's cap, then position
it at a convenient height. Whichever tank has the radiator cap, should be
higher than the thermostat on the engine. Re the small tank, be aware that you
can cut the 3 spot welds & remove the bracket, then cut or hammer-contour the
flange that it used to be welded to, into a 6" dia depression about 1-1/2"
deep. The bracket can be reattached with 3 large sheet-metal screws in this
depression. This will move the small bottle & bracket slightly back and
outboard, closer to the decklid strut. Repositioning like this gives you a
little more clearance for a wrench on #4 sparkplug. Cheers- J DeRyke
