Yo.
I tried last night to remove my left axle upright (since the
bearings and axle are toasted), but ran into the usual
how-do-I-get-these-bolts-out problem. As it is right now,
I've got everything off except the 4 bolts that attach the
axle to the half-shaft, but for the life of me I can't get those
buggers off. I haven't tried torching the nuts yet... I wanted
to make sure there wasn't a simple trick first before doing that.
(After trying to get one of them off my wrench slipped off the
bolt head and I clobbered myself in the forehead. Ow! I'm
waiting for the bruise to show up above my right eyebrow. That's
pretty much the point at which I stopped trying.) :(
Any tips?
TIA,
Jim
