Steve,
I don't know why you need the new switch but I will tell you about my
episode with the hazard switch.
When I bought my car the switch hasd a pin pushed into the switch between
the red pop-out part and the black base. I didn't like that so I removed
the pin. Every thing was great for about six months and then the switch
popped out whil the car was in the garage and drained the battery.
Several people onthe list explained how you can take the switch apart and
fix it. Well I couldn't get it apart but while working on it I noticed if I
held it tighly, it would work okay. I got a hose clamp and tightened it
around the switch after I put it back in the dash and I have not had a
problem since.
