I believe Mr. Doddeck is ultimately correct, the GTS has a serial of
"THGTXXXxxxx" where the "XXX" are letters. In fact, I'm looking at a '74 GTS
with a VIN# THGTPLO7049 which was built in 8/74 and I'm trying to get the
history on it. I've already checked with Mr. Bill Vaness & he didn't have
anything on it. By chance, are there any of you other experts out there that
could lend a hand? I'm just about at the point of handing over a fairly
weighty check, and would like to get the exact history on owners, etc. By
the way, the car appears to be totally original. However, your forum has been
a wealth of knowledge and also provides many "cautions", which makes me want
to ensure the car is actually what it appears to be. Any help from this
group would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
