Thanks to all who replied, on- and off-list, to my email re my 650 vac sec carb and lack of high-end horsepower.
I was just talking to a guy I know who has offered me a 750 vac sec holley - it's about 6 months old, yada, yada, yada. He wants the equiv of US $100 for it.
Is this a suitable carb for the 351? I am currently looking for a decent second-hand intake manifold, probably something like an Edelbrock or similar  (ie something recommended previously by listers) so I guess it's worth going for the bigger carb?
