The iron upright has two 1/2" round bosses facing inboard @ 45 degrees. Pound
smartly on one or both of these and the tapered ball joint stud will release.
It may take quite a whack (or multiple whacks) to shock it enough to let go.
Leave the nut on loosly while doing this, so the suspension doesn't fall in
your lap. Pros use a "pickle-fork" and hammer, or a forked air-hammer to
spread the stud & upright apart. The 'backwards' a-arm bolt can be removed by
playing with it a bit, but as the whole suspension weighs around 50 lbs &
needs to be held while messing with the bolt, this is probably not a good
solution for a single worker.... Good luck- J DeRyke
