Since we are still on the "rumble"....I just happen to be reading an
old PI issue (Winter 1992, #73), in an interview with Fred Matsumoto
(Who co-founded PI, I believe, and made/sold Pantera parts under
the Mind-Train name), on page 17...
"PI: What is wrong with the stock mufflers ?"
"Fred: There's a resonance in the stock ANSA's at 2200 that our pipes don't
have, and they are extremely restrictive for an engine as big as the
Pantera's."
It continues on about pipe sizes...
I believe the header causes the most, the mufflers may increase the effect,
and the car shape acts like a "boom box", (Shape amplifier).
