Just returned from London with my usual dose of British car magazines and
thought you might be interested in Detomaso references. Unfortunately the
pickings are pretty slim.

All the mags have articles on the restoration of the Qvale E-type lightweight.
Not exactly a Detomaso story but an interesting insight into Mr. Qvale's
continuing interests. Classic Car March (page 46) also has an article on the
Jensen-Healey with old pictures of Kjell Qvale. Gives you some sense of his
long-term interest in sports cars.

In the same issue a piece on bargain classics is interesting in that it
doesn't mention the Pantera!

In April, Classic & Sports Car (page 19) features a Detomaso "Helix" in their
unearthed mystery car series. Without running gear the car was discovered in
Switzerland and carries the serial number 874THPNKSO9114. They speculate that
this was a 1979 joint venture between a Swiss dealer and the factory. The poor
picture shows a Pantera line in the front fender and the A pillar.

The same issue of C&SC has a full story (page 136) on the Ferrari 365
California but strangely attribute's the design to Tom Tjaarda's elusive
brother John!

Also in the April C&SC on page 191 you can see a picture of a Deauville which
recently sold at auction for L6405 which is about $10,400.

That's all folks.
