Be very careful.
I talked to Matt about a trade deal for my other Pantera.
When I looked over the car real careful I noticed a lot of lifted paint areas.
One area around the rear window had a bubble, you guessed it rust.
Not major but little place all over. The car should be cleaned up and repainted.
Engine is rough. Needs a good tune up and a new carb. Then run it hard.
Interior is great

My dad may be interested in purchasing a Longchamp.
He saw the Profiles article on Matt Stone's car and
started asking questions. Anyone know of one for
sale? What's the price range for one in very good to
excellent condition? Did Matt ever sell his car?

[Scott W. Mead] Yep, Stoney sold the Longchamp, :~( I've had the
opportunity to drive Matt's gray wonder on many occasions -- WOW! What a
driver! If I hadn't just purchased my SVT Cobra, I would have bought the
Longchamp and used it as my daily driver.

Dad's in his middle seventies and has bad knees and
a bad back so comfort is an issue. Are they easy to
get in and out of? How do they ride? Anything special
to pay attention to when checking one out for purchase?
BTW, dad's looking for the stock body version, not a
GTS.

[Scott W. Mead] The Longchamp would be a good choice for your dad.
Ingress and egress are easily accomplished (went with Matt to a car gig
while I had two herniated disks). Matt's car had a great road feel and
suspension dampening, thanks to the addition of LaCarrera shocks. If your
dad does get a Longchamp, I highly suggest installing a cross-flow tube
between the two gas tanks, if the car doesn't already have it.

Dan, I suggest you speak with Matt directly regarding the details of his
Longchamp. Send him an e-mail to stonem@petersenpub.com.

Later,

Scott <wishing I had bought Stoney's Longchamp when I was given first crack
at it>
