Forest, I ALWAYS use a timing wheel to set stuff. Don't trust the stock timing
pointer for finding TDC, and especially don't trust the line on the harmonic
balencer! Balencers debond & rotate, and the pointers bend & move as well.
2)- a 351C 4V is really a destroked big-block when it comes to cams. I use an
SVO hydraulic cam with 214 int/224 exh @ .050, split lobe centers (107/117),
510/.535 lift, and its a pretty mild street cam (passes CA smog). In a 350
Chev, it'd be considered a stout cam. Call the cam grinders for advice and be
sure they understand that its a FORD 351C. We need more exhaust timing than
intake, while Chevys need more intake than exhaust. So a Chev grind just won't
work on a Ford and vice versa. Too bad we're outnumbered 10,000 to 1...
