Mike,
Yes, your street set-up will work fine. . .I'm in the air and on the
road these days so I don't have my suspension specs at hand but the
settings are close to stock. . .About all I had Dick Drenske do was
modify the A-Arms for added positive caster (+5 degrees) for added
high speed stability. Other then that I just used the suspension
settings I got from Gary Hall/Bobby Byers and they have worked out
great. We added *other* go-fast stuff but nothing that you need to run
the course with.
The new road is a BIG improvement. . .The dreaded dips are gone and so
is about 80% of the off-camber turn at mile 70...In any case as Curt
mentioned you got three long straights in which all you gotta do is
stay on the road! :-) There are some hill areas and sweeper turns
BEFORE you get to the canyon/narrows section that can be made at speed
if your so inclined but seeing and driving the course is two different
things and you can as Curt mentioned earlier "dry run" the course at
slow/road legal speeds before the event.
I can get you the "waiver approval" on the Qualifying Session/Driver's
School in Vegas no problem. Anyone that has a competition license and
OR any open track experience with their pantera doesn't need to do the
Qualifying Session first unless they want to...but you do need the
waiver approval if you don't attend and then I can get you. As Curt
said you also save $195 bucks! I totally agree with Curt that at any
speeds below a 130 Mph average this event is easily completed by your
average driver and P-car. Definately, the course video is a good
investment.
Hope you can make it. If we can help in any way let me, Curt or any of
the veterans know...We can also help on your travel across the
country. :-)
MD

Does anybody know the setup for a silver-states PANTERA... front end =
caster-camber-toe? and rear end settings? I know my street setup but I =
think it should be changed for a speed above 120mph or faster ??? If you =
drive at these speeds for let's say 50 mins or more Will your street =
setup work ? Also can you get a run on the course before doing it and is =
a course map available before setting a tire on it ? How about a walk =
thru or a drive walk thru ? I know it's aprox 90 miles but I know their =
are some very narrow off camber parts that you must know in advance ??? =
PLEASE help..
