Dear Forum,

Electrical problem. I had the mechanic adjust the parking brake so that it actually held and worked. He did and informed me that the parking brake was at max setting and there wasn't anymore adjustment left.
OK. The brake actually holds the car on an incline, but the problem is that the parking brake light won't go off. It stays on all the time. I have checked the brakes on an incline. When released the car coasts forward and brakes appear to release.
Hmm, the p. brake sensor is under the rubber boot next to the brake handle. Obvious enough. With the sensor exposed and manually operated in and out the light continues to stay on. I tried to remove it to disconnect the leads, but the darn thing is so well wedged in there that I can't get it out and I can't get my no so tiny little fingers inside the small confines of the base of the parking brake handle to disconnect a wire. From what I can see the wires and insulation appear to be intact.
Any ideas about where the gremlin is located that is causing my eternal parking brake light?

		Sincerely, Chuck Engles
