Chuck, You are in the right area. You will just have to get your fat
fingers in there somehow and dissconnect the switch to see if that is your
problem. Or you could try tapping the switch lightly with a screwdriver
handle to see if it is sticking. You could also spray it with some
electrical contact cleaner. And make sure that the parking brake lever is
actually all the way down! Your mechanic may have over adjusted. Good luck!
