All.
Was trying to track down a speedo face and bezel for my Goose. Had one
lined up but the brain-donor went and "gave" it away to someone after he
had gone to the trouble of getting it for me!!! AAAACK!
Sales pitch: ANyone have a bad Goose speedo or tach lying around that I
could purchase for the three front pieces??????????????? Pretty please????
Anyway, I called the lady that I bought the car from in desparation, to
see if she remembered the piece being there or not.... in hopes that it is
lying in a box somewhere.... No such luck.
However, she did give me the number of her ex, who I called and found out
that the face plate was indeed on the car.... he has no idea where or why
it was off..... perhaps it was vandels....
In talking with him, I got some of the history of the car whilst he had
it.... something about new upper spindle pivots and not being aligned after
replacement.... do all four wheels.... a new starter, an oil leak after
pulling the oil pan to replace the starter..... and then he said that the
trans overheated too!
Can someone tell me about trans overheating and what you may experience!
Now mind you, I've had absolutely NO trouble with trans overheating......
but then I've put exactly ZERO miles on the car too...... hee hee hee!!!!
What am I to look forward to?
Was this guy for real or simply mentioning a problem caused somewhere
else...??? What constitutes an overheated gearbox??? Boiling 90W oil???
Hard shifts? No shifts???
What to do about it?? Synthetic gear oils?? ventilation holes in the
case.....? Ice packs!?
Oh, then he mentioned that the car is toasty warm in the winter due to
the air leaks in the console, extra roasty warm in the summer (!!!!)
from the radiator in the front and from the engine compartment via the
shifter hole.....but I figure this is the least of my worries....
Info appreciated.. thanks,
