Doug & All
The tag that you are referring to has a bunch of data on it.
First is the engine size, 351C for Cleveland built 351 cu in.
Second is date: 72-5 is 1972 and could be May, 5th month, OR it could be in
the B7 which would be Feb 7th.
Third, is the engine model, KK621. This is the most important as it is used
by the parts
people to get parts for your motor! This is where the CJ, Boss, or vanilla
flavor will be determined, as there were indeed several flavors of this
motor in 72.
This number (and the rest) is all esplained in the front of the Ford parts
books, so is no mystery.
I'll try and remember to look up the KK621 and see which version it is that
you have.
