It may stop your alternator from charging, though. When mine fell out of the
hole, the next start showed the alternator discharging and this continued
until the thing was put back in place. Seems the light & resistor is part of
the alternator field excitation circuit. Some Panteras didn't have the
resistor, so when the lightbulb burned out, the electrons stopped flowing....
