Dan,

For 6000rpm and low end torque the stroker will be hard to beat.

	I would suggest a "Scat" crank, it is cast steel used by Ford, and is
warehoused here in LA. Stroke of your choice, ready to drop in a
cleveland block, for about $650.
 Get your 6" chevy rods (the crank is ground for them) from somewhere
like Summit (good price)
Order custom, stroker pistons from JE,  they will know the numbers that
matter. 
Total of about $1800
 Thats it.  The only time to wait, is for the pistons, avg  5-6 weeks. 

 I suggest you talk to Randy Gillis, who works at JE, and he will give
you some great insight on the right cam grind for this setup.
