010 over means custom pistons @ about $550 a set but possibly no sonic check.
030 over mean a mandatory sonic check before boring, to be sure the boring
bar is centered in each cylinder core, not necessarily the cylinder hole. I'd
also request it be bored with a torque plate on top as the article I published
2 yrs back showed that the cylinders can warp up to 3/4 of the tolerance for
cast pistons, when head bolts are tightened. If I were you and didn't have
mega-bucks to throw at the motor, I'd call Randy Gillis in So-Cal for the
straight-scoop [work phone= (714)899-7603]. Randy works for JE Pistons, is a
POCA member (he was 1/2 of the '98 election committee), and builds engines
professionally (he built John Parson's killer-motor for last years track
event). Your builder sounds like your problems are a lot of trouble -for him-
