Maybe. Look really carefully at the butt end of the axle near the threads.
There will be a small stamped "D" or "S" in two places 180 degrees apart. "D"
is dextro; Italian for right hand thread. "S" is sinistro; Italian for
left-hand thread. Ive seen the axles interchanged side-to-side, two of the
same, etc. Also, some perverts use red Lock-Tite on the nut and this
increases the force required to loosen. Try heating the nut up with a propane
torch and smelling the fumes; Lock-Tite is very pungent when heated, and it
also softens & burns up with such heat. You really shouldn't re-use the nuts,
so if all else fails, blow one side of the nut away with a cutting torch;
done properly, no damage at all will happen to the axle threads. Cheers- J
