A while ago someone on the list asked about the externally adjustable
metering blocks from Percy's.  Well I bought a set and this weekend I put
them on my car.  Installation was fine, tuning was QUITE easy.  There were
two drawbacks.  My car is equipped with a large round K& N air cleaner.
This did not clear the carb with the extra plate install. (Anyone want a
pair of these things?)  Second under heavy braking the engine just plain
died.  Apparently the fuel rushes to the out of the adjustable plate and the
engine runs out of fuel.  I tried it a few (3) times to verify that this was
indeed the cause.

I've pulled them off the car, but I did use replace jets with the equivalent
jets from the adjustable plate (perhaps I will be close).

Now I've GOT to find a chassis dyno

PS. wish me luck, I have a dyno smog test tomorrow (they were kind enough
here in Illinois to institute these things!)
