Scruff

It sounds like you are talking about Haggerty Insurance. I was quoted
179.00 a year with the same restrictions you spoke about. I however ran
into a problem. I have to have 1 daily driver per person license in my
house. Right now I have my girlfriend living with me and we are car-pooling
since she works really close to my job. We were/are looking for a Classic
Mustang for her. Anyway they said thanks, but call back when she has her
own car.

I am far from happy about this since now it costs me ~900 per year but I
know if anything ever happen to the car, I am going to get screwed,
regardless of what the Sales agent says.

Small world - congratulations John!! Seems like all Panteras
spend a lot of
time traveling from coast to coast!! I'm not good at
remembering names, but a
few weeks ago someone was trying to figure out how to get
one from the West
coast to one of the middle states. Then there was "welcome
to the new kitty" a
few days ago. You're going from ID to CA and if the Schwab
people can finally
make the money transfer correctly, I'll be taking one from
CA to CT.

I've talked to my "independent agent" and they are hooking
me up with a
company that is going to cost a little less than $300 a
year. Believe it or
not - I haven't asked the name of the company yet because I
have to go to the
agent's office for the paperwork. Don't laugh, but I think
it's called "The
Great American Insurance Co." My other cars are with
Colonial Penn - they'll
insure the Pantera for $1800 a year for what they call an
undisclosed book
value - I was curious about adding it to my existing policy
with no
restrictions. I knew it would be way to high and it's not
covered for anywhere
near appraised value. Anyhow - another short story made long
by the Scruffy
One. The $290 will get me Body Injury of 250K / 500K,
Property Damage of 100K
(should I become a missile) and last but not least 25K
Collision. I might
raise the 25K but don't have the car in my hands yet so I'm
going one step at
a time. There are some limits/requirements: 2,500 miles per
year max, garaged,
can't be used for daily work, it can be driven to and from
shows, events or
occasional pleasure rides. I'm not sure about collision
deductible - I think
they said there is no deductible, but I may have
misunderstood. I also need to
prove that I have at least one other car insured for daily
driving - by a copy
of my existing cover page. And they want photos of the car,
engine, wheels,
etc. They don't require written appraisal but based on my
past experiences
with other things I think I'll eventually get one just for
the records.

I think when the others jump in, you will find something
around $300 to be
		ballpark.
One other thing I just thought of that might affect what you
pay is age. I am
way over 25 and I think that makes a difference.

Have a safe trip and enjoy!! ~ Scruff
