Yup, chassis grounding is common and designed in, in many applications.

A redundant ground never hurt anything...  good preventative wrenching!!

If the ground was missing that long..... I would suspect the "that long" had more
to do with it than the missing ground.

65 Buick...  How is it you can keep your mom's 60's Buick on the road and not
your 70's Pantera.....   <grinning, ducking for cover>
