I Didn't respond to the original question because I felt that I did not
have a good perspective on comparison.
But what the heck...
My last motor, stock, other than: big cam and torker manifold, roller
rockers, and me messing around in the bowls,
had a 750cfm 3310 built by the Carb Shop, it was very streetable, with
enough low end to autocross competetively in second gear all the way!
No complaints here.

My current motor is stroked to 414ci, and has an 850cfm double
pumper,so I cant compare carbs with this much difference in engine
build. However it drives fine around town (only need the primaries) and
if I get on the secondaries, all hell breaks loose! the throttle
response is good (awsome at 3000 rpm+, which seems to have more to do
with 'on' or 'off' the cam, than whether it is 2 or 4 barrels)
The carb was dialed in on the dyno, after the Las Vegas race event.
No complaints here either.
It surprised me that the bigger motor, with that carb, produced better
gas mileage than my 351 even before we dialed it in!

so I hope thats cleared up this issue :-)

cheers
