Last night I was adjusting the timing. Vac advance dist.
I set the timing to 14 degrees and for grins, I pulled the vac line and
plugged it. The engine began to idle so slow it would not run. When I hook
it back up I can hear a hissing sound(Vac diaphram leaking?). I pluged the
line and set the timing and readjusted the idle. Can I run the car without
the Vac advance? It looks like I am getting about 16 degrees or so from the
mechanical advance.
Should I replace the vac unit on the distributor??
