So he's still screwed in the axle dep't, in the sense that he can't get the
thing apart. But since his axle/bearings are nice and tight, there's no
immediate NEED for him to take 'em apart, so he's happy! :>)
And presumably he's well on his way to getting his lower shaft ass'y
replaced...
