mike me thinks you have been drinking to much of these vendors tea's. if you
are in it for anything other than the money, you would try to give the best
advice to a customer, regardless if you have or make the right part. my
experience as a pantera owner(21years) is that they all have the best part or
the way to go or some other line.
it seems as the car gets older the prices sky rocket, i would expect this as
the supply of "STOCK N.O.S parts decline. however there taking and modifying
cheap g.m. parts, and charging a arm and a leg for them. dont get me wrong, i
harbor no ill will for these vendors as it is nice to be able to get parts
after all these years. however we have lost touch with the hole idea behind
the pantera. a affordable exotic.
i am in the course of a total updating on my car, or as it has turned out,a
frame up restoration. for this i am paying the original purchase price of
the car and more.
as for the honesty or integrity of some vendors you be the judge Example #1
when in the course of re building my sterring i needed new boots along with
everything else. after total re paint and re build i went to put the boots on
and noticed they were longer than original, called vendor with ????. i
thought that since they came in this neat factory logo bag, they must be the
right ones, used very expensive ss german boot clamps and added the oil, it
promptly leaked out all over the place. after checking with steve wilkinson
he informed me that they were not de tomaso boots , steve had seen the boots
while visiting the vendor, the vendor was not buying detomaso boots, just
detomaso bags and packaging them to look like the factory pkg. i asked steve
why he would do that he indicated the ill fitting boots cost
less-------figure the rest out for yourself. EXAMPLE #2 purchased a NEW
blue thunder manifold from a pantera vendor, when it arrived it had no box,
no instructions,no owners info or anything.the manifold was thrown in a box
and shipped to me. when i inspected it i discovered exhaust residue in the
heat riser areas of the manifold and you could still see where carb.gasket
and intake gaskets were bolted down, when i discovered i had been sold a USED
manifold i called and was lold that the manifold was new, never used. what
kind of egos do these theives have, and what kind of fucking idiot's do they
take us for,new manifold BULLSHIT!!!!!
dont be fooled by what they say unless you have unlimited money and dont
care how you spend it. if this is the case just load up your money and send
it to me, at least i will say thank you after i screw you
best of luck watch you backside
