Well, I just got off the phone with Denis Shean who is head of NASA Racing in
San Deigo. He informed me of an upcomming sports car race in/on the streets
of Tecate, Mexico over the Memorial Day weekend. From his description it
sounded pretty cool and well worth passing on. Panteras and other Exotics,
run in a class called PCB (Porache, Classic's (us), and BMW's. This race
event is being run by the same organizer as the La Carrera Classic in Mexico.
So, it will be well organized and just a minute or two from the border.
Which is nice. For the Panteras or any other cars running, you'll need a
driving suit, 5 point restraint, and a roll bar. Basically, pretty minimal.
Now for the cool part. 20,000 spectators! No typo, TWEN if you ever wanted
to make an impresstion or get the Panteras out in the spot light, this is
your chance. In addition, most of the course they will be running is on
brand new pavement.

I really think this is going to be a well run and great event in general.
The cost is $275 and includes practice and qualifying on Friday, practice and
Trophy dashes on Saturday, and the race on Sunday. This is really kind of
nice because you can leave Sunday and still probably have the Monday holiday
off for relaxation and honey do's (dues).

For more information please email or call Dennis Shean at
dennis@nasaracing.com, Phone or Fax at 619465-3789.

If you guys have some email address from other car clubs, please pass this
along to them if you would. Thanks.
