Doug I'll share my experience in Nov of '92 for comparison purposes. I am
confident that it could have been done for less or you may forgo a few of
the extras. I was surprised how things added up.
I swapped my tired open chamber heads plus $200 for a tired set of quench
heads.
Heads w/exchange $200
Install 8 hardened exhaust seats $100
Machine heads for screw in studs $100
Install Bronze valve guides $125
Match ccs in head (58cc) $80 (Required decking surfaces
045)
Stainless Valves and 3 angle grind $235
Guide plates $21
single groove keepers $4
Rocker Arm Studs $29
Machine spring seats for triple springs $32
Spring retainers for triples $26
PC Valve seals $19
Total $971**
**Excludes cost of springs which were part of cam kit and value of open
chamber heads.
