if there was only one vendor, you can get a fair idea by looking
at other parts of the world where there IS only one DeTomaso 
vendor. As I've posted to several people on the list, when I 
called DeTomaso, France (the only source of Pantera parts in 
France) I got a price of $420 for a standard 60-amp Ford alternator.
I called the US and got a price of $78 for the same part. When 
I asked DeTomaso France why the part was so expensive they
explained it was because of shipping, import duties, and taxes.
Bullsh*t, I had it AIRMAILED, paid all the import duties and taxes
myself and even so it was under $200. Chalk the rest up to the
fact that there is only one dealer here... So if you wonder how
much this stuff would cost with only one vendor? Here's at
least one example of what happens...
