Jon Long
Loma Prieta Pantera
He's located atop Loma Prieta Mountain off Hwy 17 between San Jose and Santa
Cruz. I guess he's rebuilt a few gearboxes in the 20-something years I think
he's been working on Panteras (as a sideline--he's a United Airlines mechanic
by trade)
Sorry, I don't have his number 'cause apparently he let his PCNC membership
lapse? But lots of old-timey PCNC dudes on this list should be able to help
with the details...
As an aside, remember the big 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake? His house was
*100 yards* from the epicenter of this earthquake! The houses on either side
of his were literally reduced to splinters, while his was perfectly okay,
except his windsurfer broke loose from the top of his garage and fell RIGHT
onto his Pantera, nose-first! The thing punctured right through the roof,
through the seat and embedded itself into the floor! :<(
