I have used GL-5 oil in my trannie, and often a generic brand, for the past
12 years. The transmission is in the exact same shape it was when I bought
the car, no repairs ever. I have put 40K miles on it and those were hard
miles. I do a lot of speed shifting. I see nothing wrong with GL-5 oil.
And I use regular mineral oil too, no synthetic.
