[Eustaquio, Cal J] Hi Alan:
At the risk of sounding dopey, I can only offer a quick check on
this. Don't know if you've ever noticed this on a 10 speed bike but if you
take the 10 speed, put it upside down and rotate the tire such that the
valve is at the top and let go, the tire will tend to turn such that the
valve is now at the bottom (if the bearings are good). You can probably
check this on the flywheel (anyone else who wants to correct me on this,
please jump in). But place the flywheel on any shaft and check to see if the
flywheel has a tendency to rotate (by itself) when you let it go. Of course,
put the flywheel in several different position to ensure that you haven't
put the heavy side at the bottom (just in case it is out of balance). This
should (in theory) tell you if the flywheel is balanced or not. Just my
00002/100% cents for whatever its worth. Cal. #????
