Subject:RE: New hoses question FLUSH

How I flushed my system:

I hooked up one of those Prestone "T"s in front of (engine side) the heater
shut off valve, connected the garden hose, disconnected the other side of
the heater hose (to drain on the ground) and flushed the heater segment.
Then I opened the radiator cock, closed the heater valves, and let the
system
flush through there. (I did the heater first, separately in case I flushed
out
BIG chunks...didn't want them to go through the radiator.)
Once it seemed clean, I ran the engine until the thermostat opened and
flushed
that through. To refill, I left the radiator open, and with the car still
jacked up in back,
I removed the "T", then as water drained out the radiator, I added pure
anti-freeze
until the mix was at target. Then I closed the radiator pep cock, added
some
Water Wetter, and ran the engine again to open the thermostat and release
any
trapped air. (If I had drilled my thermostat, the air would have already
been released.)
I had a couple of "gurgles" the next day, and the temp fluxuated
occasionally, so
I repeated the process of "Jack up front, open radiator - vented some air -
Jack up
rear, run engine - vented some air) Worked fine after that.
