Dear Motor Sport Enthusiast:
========= ASPHALT HAS BEEN POURED AT MOTORSPORT RANCH! ==========
The road from hwy 377 to the paddock is now asphalt, as well as most of the
paddock, the covered grid area, pit road, and even the road course itself.
Although cars now being driven on the road course, this is only the first
three inches of asphalt to be applied. An additional two inches of "the good
stuff" will be applied over the first three inches the week of May 10th.
Barring any seriously bad weather, all the asphalt work should be completed
and ready by the end of this month (May 1999).
========== Early membership rates ==========
Thanks to all the members (more than 40) who have already signed up and taken
advantage of the pre-opening rates.
Initiation fees have increased since the paving began. They will increase
again on June 1, 1999.
The fee structure of MotorSport Ranch is similar to that of a country club
and consists of an initiation fee (one time only), monthly dues, and a fee
for each half-hour run session. The two levels of memberships available are
Executive and Regular. The web page at www.motorsport.ranch.com provides
more details of each membership; basic rates (including all taxes) follow:
Executive initiation fee: $10,560 (transferable) ($12,000 after June
1, 1999)
Executive monthly dues: $50
Executive half-hour run session: $15
Regular initiation fee: $2,090 ($2,400 after
June 1, 1999)
Regular monthly dues: $75
Regular half-hour run session: $20
Enclosed and lockable garages currently under construction will be available
for those who wish to keep their car and/or tools at the ranch. Each garage
measures 12 feet by 25 feet and will have electricity, lights, and compressed
air. The cost is $150 per month for executive members and $175 per month for
regular members. All of the initial 20 garages have been rented. A waiting
list for the next block of 20 garages is now in effect. These next 20
garages will not be ready until August.
Simply request an application package if you wish to join the club.
Construction on the clubhouse with its viewing area, meeting rooms,
bathrooms, showers, and offices will begin in May and take approximately 90
days to complete.
========== Saturday Tours and Test Rides on the Track ==========
The gates are open every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., rain or
shine. Orientation rides on the track will be available on May 8th for
everyone interested in checking out the road course.
========== Racing Events have been Scheduled ==========
The Viper Days final event of the year has been scheduled at MotorSport Ranch
for November 5, 6, and 7. Club members may want to come out and watch a
total of 80 Dodge Vipers compete in various classes.
Two weekends have been taken by the CMRA motorcycle club for their racing
schedule next year, and possibly a test and tune day in October of this year.
========= Limited Membership ==========
MotorSport Ranch will limit its membership. Exactly how many members that
will be remains to be seen. It depends on just how many sessions the average
member runs on the road course every month (or week). Before the facility
becomes too busy on weekends, memberships will cease to be accepted until an
existing member terminates his membership.
MotorSport Ranch is not trying to be everything to everyone. But it*s more
than just a road course; it*s more than just a club: It*s a lifestyle*it*s
about the camaraderie and the cars.
MotorSport Ranch has been over three years in gestation. I look forward to
the next few weeks with great anticipation as the first and only facility of
its kind is born.
Best regards,
Jack Farr
President
