Bjorn Carapi did it again!
Sunday June 6 he took the title "Fastest Sportscar in Sweden" for the fifth
time (out of
seven possible). This was the last time the competition was held in this
form
since he has no competitors. He had a top speed of 234 km/h. Second best
car, a well tweaked Audi RS2, had just over 200 km/h...
It was a great meeting and DeTomaso was the featured mark of the event. We
had
about 45 people for the dinner on Saturday night and about 25 cars on a
great display during Sunday. We were also invited for some "show off" laps
while Mats Gorski, our prez (Mad Mats?), spoke about the cars and the club
from the speaker tower.
We also got two spontaneous tech sessions! One MSD box went dead on a
stroked 460 big block on the trip to the event, and one Ignitor module died
after the track session.
Of course the parts that broke were aftermarket, the original DeTomaso
products held up to the test!
