Who's life?  :o)  I have seen several listers who have performed this 
modification and had to have it redone/repaired/replaced because the tapered 
bearings went south.

I think the stock bearing setup has a bad rap.  Over 90,000 on my stock set 
up which is driven hard with 17" wheels and still going strong.  I can 
replace a LOT of stock bearings for the cost of a tapered bearing setup!

In fact, so few people actually drive their Panteras in comparision, most 
have sold their cars within 10,000 miles of doing all those fancy 
modifications.
